About Us

Buchanan's Cute & Cuddly Canines

Over 10 years experience in breeding and placing westies. We have provided wonderful, healthy, happy, and sometimes naughty puppies to their forever humans all across the US. We are a small independent hobby breeder. We will never have more then 10 adult dogs because they are also our pets. Bcccanines is a father and son operated breeding program with our main goal to advance the health and wellness of westies by providing our customers with well bred puppies free of any genetic defects. We are located in rural west central Arkansas. 

About our westie puppies

What you can expect

All of our puppies are pure breed west highland white terriers. They are registered with either AKC or ACA and customer reserves all breeding rights. We will not place them until they are at least 8 weeks old. They are UTD on worming, 2 rounds of vaccinations, dew claws removed, microchipped, and spoiled. All puppies are vet checked and have health certificates. We guarantee our puppies for 1 year against genetic defects.

How do I adopt my new puppy & get it home?

Purchasing your new puppy

OK, you have now fallen in love with your new puppy and are wondering how do I get this baby home so I can love it and snuggle it!!!! I need this little floofy bundle of joy in my life!!!!


Here is the process

Contact me, C. John Buchanan Sr. to make all arrangements. We require a $250 non-refundable deposit on all puppies. The remainder of the balance will be due upon pick up or before a flight is ordered. We accept cash, paypal, zelle, fb messenger pay, check-money order-cashier's check (providing it can be bank verified and time is given for funds to be available, customer will not take possession until funds are clear). After deposit is made all listings will be removed. For your privacy all pictures and videos will be sent directly to you and you may share if you like. We believe puppies are like family members and we would not post pics of someone else's family members without permission. You will receive updated pictures once a week for you to monitor your puppies progress. If concerns of fraud, we will put a card with your name in the picture. Facetime and videos are available on request within reason. (please respect I'm a single parent with limited time and my time is divided between taking care of your puppy, my dogs, and my kids so I may not be able to do it everyday). 


Delivery & Pick Up

For Pick Up. I will meet customers in a PUBLIC place within an hour drive of Fort Smith Arkansas. Under no circumstances will anyone come to my home. This is for the puppies, dogs, customers protection and mine. If you would like to facetime to see my home or google it, all my information is listed and it visible. I respect and understand that there has to be a certain level of trust between a breeder and customer but I can not risk my children's, puppies, or my safety & health. I apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. 

For Delivery. Cargo domestic flights are available to most major airports in the US. The cost for the flight and other needed items and services is approximately $450 and needs to be paid with the price of the puppy 10 days prior to flying. Flight nannies and ground shipping are available as well, prices vary on those, so will need to get a quote on that or have customer make arrangements. All extra costs will be at the customer's expense. 


After you have your new baby

Now you have your new fur baby. The fun begins. You will need to mail in your registry application and microchip registry. Take them to the vet to get them used to the vet and build a relationship. Your puppy has had 2 rounds of vaccines, so they will need another within 2 weeks from the last one given. They will also need a rabies vaccination at 12-16 weeks of age depending on what your vet recommends. Westies need to be groomed regularly as well. If you do not intend on doing it yourself, then you may want to establish a relationship with a local groomer. Do not expose them to public dog parks or to any other animals that have not been properly vaccinated. Remember your baby is like a hyper toddler that just ate a bunch of sugar. If it is on the floor they will try to eat it. They are curious and will get into everything they can. They require a lot of patience and dedication. Westies are very intelligent and at times can also be very stubborn. Just keep after it and your little one will learn eventually.

Diamond Naturals Small Breed Puppy

Since westies have such a difference in eating habits and some can be picky eaters. We start them on diamond naturals small breed puppy food. We will provide a small bag with each puppy. You are welcome to continue or use the bag to ween them onto another food. We free feed all our dogs so that they can eat as much as they want and when they feel like eating, it is always available for them. They are growing babies and have so much energy that they get plenty of exercise. Note: if any concerns with allergies or excessive weight, please always take your vets advice on special diets.
